Taylor Swift Is Having The Best Week Of Her Life
Originally posted Thursday November 12, 2009Fresh off her sweep of the CMA awards and a great week by any measure, Taylor Swift has only one thing on her mind: celebrating.
"Tonight I'm just gonna dance around with my band and my crew and my label," she said after winning Entertainer of the Year in Nashville Wednesday night.
"I'm going to go hang out with my crew and my band and the people at my record label, and we're going to hug and dance and jump up and down," she also told PEOPLE.
She'll also be looking for the next step in her quickly burgeoning career.
"I never imagined that the unattainable thing that I dreamed about could happen to me at 19," she said. "It's a lot to absorb. So now the next challenge is to find the next challenge."
But first things first – where to put her awards.
"I got my first place, so I'm going to put these someplace very, very centrally located!" she said. "I'm not quite sure where. I might have to put up some shelves."
Swift Success
In a period when she's won the sympathy of the country after being humiliated by Kanye West during September's MTV Video Music Awards, been rumored to have begun a romance with Taylor Lautner, and headlined on Saturday Night Live, the CMA wins cap it all off."What happened about 37 minutes ago stands out the most!" she said. "Before tonight, SNL was the coolest week of my life! I felt like I was part of such a tradition. Being able to make friends with those people who have made me laugh every Saturday night was amazing."
By early Thursday morning, she had Tweeted: "I have said 'i love you' to so many people tonight. I can't stop hugging people. This is magical."
With so many good things coming her way from so many different angles, it's sometimes hard to think of the few things she's not good at.
"Soccer. And volleyball and basketball," she said. "I know because I tried all of them in high school – I will join in at sports, but I'm not good at them!"
But, true country gal that she is, Swift isn't letting all the success go to her head.
"It feels like just yesterday I was knocking on doors in Nashville saying, 'Hey, would you listen to my demo?' " she said. "I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to open for all those people who were nominated with me."
