Britney Spears' New Single Pushed Back
Not since her days with Justin Timberlake has Britney Spears been such a tease. Spears was scheduled to drop her new single, "Womanizer," today, but now, various sources are saying that Spears' official single release is getting put off for another week.
This news comes mere days after a 40-second clip of the bubbly track appeared online. Say the music nerds over at Idolator, the track "needs more mixing and editing" before it's radio ready (read: Britney's vocals are completely indistinguishable from a robot).
As for us, we just want to hear something that doesn't sound as though it was recorded on the world's first answering machine. (MTV News reports that the track was leaked by a Nashville Radio station who taped the song when a radio rep was previewing the single for them over the phone.)
The 40-second clip is so staticky we're not 100 per cent sure if we're listening to a new Spears track or Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape." Still, until next week, that's all fans can expect.
Spears' upcoming album, Circus, is due out December 2.
